Employment opportunity – Junior Basketball Coordinator

With some new year re-structuring and some staff changes at Lakeside, I am pleased to release some exciting employment opportunities within our Recreation Centre.  Our Centre has been growing steadily over the past 10 years and we are looking for the right people to help this continue into the future.

While our Centre operates across a broad range of recreation areas, we are a specialist basketball venue, affiliated with Basketball WA.  Three of these new roles are focussed on taking our Basketball Programs to even greater heights, with the fourth role being in administration and working across all areas of operation.

Junior Basketball Coordinator Role

Hour Range: 28-37.5hrs per week

Leading all Lakeside Junior Basketball Programs and competitions, the Coordinator will be passionate about seeing growth in all areas of our basketball operations.  Working alongside our Director of Basketball Development, they will drive growth in Aussie Hoops, Camps and Development Programs through increased connection with local schools and our community.

The Junior Basketball Coordinator will have excellent communication and administration skills, ensuring a quality Competition is available across our junior age range.  They will be driven to see growth in all junior competitions and provide a sustainable framework that can meet the demand for basketball in our local community.  In partnership with our Senior Sports Coordinator and other staff, they will ensure that Lakeside builds on its existing reputation as a Basketball Specialist Centre.


Highly Desirable Attributes:

  • Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills
  • Highly Organised and Efficient – Time management skills
  • Background in Basketball or Sports Management
  • Computer Skills – Office Suite and ability to use or learn competition management software
  • Understanding of and Commitment to the Lakeside Mission and Values
